Chalons 2023 philatelic exhibition awards
The results of the philatelic exhibition and congress held in Chalon-sur-Saône, concerning the Groupement Philatélique Languedoc Roussillon.
Award in philatelic competition :
Grand Prix of the exhibition awarded to M André HAMON – Gold Medal + Special Prize -93 points)
Collection presented: Dunkerque à la belle époque from 1887 to 1914
Laurent ABBES – Gold Medal + Special Prize (93 points) for his collection entitled “Les 10c rouges non surchargés – 1906 / 1921“.
Jacques CONSEJO – Vermeil Medal (80 points) for his collection entitled “Genesis and use of the Machin type for 25 years in Great Britain“.
José BURTON – Vermeil medal (81 points) for his collection entitled “Les territoires de Moselle et d’Alsace annexés par le IIIe Reich 1940/1945“.
Serge MAGALLON – Grand Vermeil medal (85 points) for his collection entitled “Courriers de militaires pendant la campagne d’Abyssinie“.
Federal awards
Deux récompenses au sein du Groupement Philatélique Languedoc Roussillon ont été attribuées à :
The Fromaigeat Trophy (created in honor of Jacques Fromaigeat, who organized philately for young people in the 1960s/1970s) honors philatelists who have made a significant contribution to the cause of young people through philately.
The Fromaigeat 2023 trophy goes to Jean-Louis ICHE (Association Philatélique & Numismatique Carcassonnaise).
The Biscara plaque (created in honor of André BISCARA, first president of the Groupement Philatélique du Centre-Ouest in 1939) to honor philatelists recognized for their work within a group.
The Biscara 2023 plaque is awarded to Elyane MATHIEU (Amicale Philatélique de Saissac).
