{"id":454,"date":"2023-08-11T09:16:43","date_gmt":"2023-08-11T07:16:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.philagplr12.fr\/?page_id=454"},"modified":"2023-08-11T09:19:23","modified_gmt":"2023-08-11T07:19:23","slug":"history","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.gplr-12.fr\/index.php\/the-association\/history\/","title":{"rendered":"History"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-vivid-cyan-blue-background-color has-background\">Introducing G.P.L.R.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Groupement philat\u00e9lique r\u00e9gional Languedoc-Roussillon brings together the philatelic associations (members of the F.F.A.P. &#8211; F\u00e9d\u00e9ration Fran\u00e7aise des Associations Philat\u00e9liques) of the Languedoc-Roussillon region.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>History of Groupement philat\u00e9lique Languedoc-Roussillon<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first philatelic societies in our region were created between 1920 and 1930. They quickly realized the benefits of joining the &#8220;F\u00e9d\u00e9ration des Soci\u00e9t\u00e9s Philat\u00e9liques Fran\u00e7aises&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By 1939, some ten associations had joined forces in this federation, whose motto has always been: &#8220;Unite and Educate&#8221;. The federal delegate at the time was Robert Freydier, and this first stage ended with the national exhibition in Montpellier in May 1939.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Very quickly, the war and the division of France into two zones deprived our societies of their leaders, who had gone to the front, been taken prisoner or unfortunately disappeared, and distanced them from the federation in particular. Robert Freydier (federal delegate) tried to maintain cohesion between all the societies in the southern zone, thanks to the magazine &#8220;le bulletin philat\u00e9lique du Midi&#8221;, which provided associations with the necessary information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A committee was first set up in January 1953, under the impetus of Commandant Rouffiol, President of the Association Philat\u00e9lique du Languedoc (Narbonne) and Robert Fabre, President of the A.P.B. (B\u00e9ziers). The societies of Carcassonne, B\u00e9ziers, Narbonne and Perpignan joined forces to form a regional committee with the aim of promoting philately in the region, by coordinating philatelic events. Thus were born the regional exhibitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 1955, the committee expanded to include the Montpellier philatelic association, followed in 1959 by the N\u00eemes philatelic association, and finally in 1964, at the Bess\u00e8ges &#8220;Stamp Day&#8221;, the societies of Al\u00e8s, Bagnols, Bess\u00e8ges, La Grand-Combe, Uz\u00e8s and Les Vans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The union of Upper and Lower Languedoc had been achieved.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 1969, at the Perpignan congress, bylaws were drawn up.
